Lovely location, next to a marina.Getting into the city requires a 20 minute walk - some of the sea front is being redeveloped, but will be easy enough when finished. Very clean and has plenty of space.

  • Couple

Great swimming facilities, two pools, and access to a (concrete) beach which was surprisingly fun. Split old town is only 15 mins walk away. Breakfast was fine, hotel had wifi but not room. Quirky place.

The walk to the old town is not very well lit at night, and has a lot of major construction work so a lot of the buildings are derelict. The wife didn't enjoy that so factor in a 50kn taxi from town each night if that is a concern. I don't think the place is primarily a hotel - more a very busy swimming and water polo club with spare rooms.

  • Older travelers

Helpful staff booking taxis, providing information, fixing problems. Location with adjacent swimming, cafe bar and walking, Location just far enough from town to escape noise and near enough for a pleasant walk. Breakfast room very pleasant. Balcony overlooking pools and sea.

The starkness of the corridors and the ubiquitous blue. It needs a design makeover. Breakfast very basic.

  • Couple

excellent quiet location with a lovely view; 15 minutes walk from the old town by the sea; very helpful and friendly staff, good breakfast

no elevator; size of the room

  • Older travelers

    Good location and friendly staff.

First room we were given was like a poor university room. Very small, spartan with dirty. We complained and were given a much bigger room, but this too looked as though it had seen better days. Things broken [the shower head and been broken off from its mounting and the water would not drain from the shower] or had been badly repaired. We had to ask for towels! At breakfast, the waiter started to clear away breakfast food long before the set time for breakfast ending. etc etc

  • Older travelers

The front desk reception staff went over and beyond themselves to help us. They helped us carry our luggage to our room. They helped us with any questions we had... Directions to places... Buses to take... Where the church was etc. They even drove us very early ,@ 6 am to the airport to get our plane... Before we left , they made sure we had something to eat and drink.. They were so friendly and helpful.. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone !

Location... Friendliness... Helpfulness... Large room. Food was not bad. The breakfast that came with the room was quite good. Overall stay was good.

  • Group of friends

An easy stroll into town. During our visit there were nearby building works but once they are completed it is a nice, safe walk into town. Lovely sea to swim but it is important to know that many of the beaches are based on the quality of the sea not necessarily the beach! It is a concrete beach with steps leading to the sea, not easy to stand up in the water but the water is lovely and a nice mix of locals swim there. Olympic sized swimming pool was lovely! Staff were helpful and polite, breakfast was pretty standard.

The building and rooms do resemble old university accomodation and the long corridors do look a bit like a prison. But who cares for a short stay!

  • Single

excellent location close to the main marina, needs a little restoration, but very convenient for 1 or 2 nights stay

  • Group of friends

It was like stepping back into the 1970's, it just needed Basil Fawlty behind reception! The rooms are a good size but beds rock hard and the ensuite needed updating at the very least. The aircon worked but only had off or hurricane setting! Sea view ok, incorporating two full olympic size pools, with starting blocks, stands, floodlights etc. Apparently the hotel was originally built as an Eastern Block swimming camp. Breakfast was inedible and served in a concrete cafeteria. Thankfully we could laugh about the experience as we were only staying one night.

  • Couple

The swimming pool (there is a 25m and a 50m olympic pool which can be used when the swimmers are not training) and the access to the private beach which is at the bottom of the hotel.

The room design was old and the bathroom was not of a very good quality.

  • Older travelers

The view of the sea from the room and the close walking distance to the old town center.

Facilities need updating and reconditioning. At one time was an exceptional hotel

  • Single

The hotel is fine, location good. I came to visit the Mestrovic Gallery. Problems - the bathroom fixtures are very hard to handle, faucets to turn, shower to hold. Hot water - takes very long to get it. I also had a hard time with the door handle and lock.

  • Family with children

olympic pool and concrete beach with cafe and ladders into ocean good-sized rooms...we had two for a family of 3 that were connected

still sports centre-ish in places....mainly stairwell...bit weird. Also hallways had carpet and sofas that were a bit tatty and broken furniture on a balcony at top of stairway gave a bad impression

  • Family with children

We stayed one night to visit family and the hotel was terrible. On arrival one of the rooms was not prepared so we decided to go off and have something to eat. When we returned we were told that the room would not be next to the other one as previously allocated as there had been some mix up. The problem seemed to lie in the fact that there were two reception desks and they hadn't communicated with each other. Fortunately I had my Croation relatives to talk to them to get a room two doors away instead. All of this took an hour to sort out and meant that we missed the concert we want to go to. The next morning when my children woke they where unable to open their room door. My husband went down to reception to get help but no one was there, so he had climb out our room window and along the exterior balcony to their room to get them out. From a Heath and safety point of view this potentially could have been disarsterous if something had gone wrong and they were trapped in their room. The main issue with this hotel is that it needs major up dating. All the furnishings and interior are worn out. The breakfast which was included in the price was awful, minimal and utterly pointless. A few boiled egs, cheap cereal and coffee which was like dish water. We made a complaint about the poor service we received and how inconvenienced we where regarding the room allocation. We did however, receive one of the rooms free of charge.

    friendly staff

poor decoration dirty widows and tired decor in need of total refurbishment not upto international standard
